Yesterday’s News, Today:
Miles Bonny & Bobby Blunt have teamed for “Tonight’s the Night” (which is accompanied by a Kenny Dope remix of the track). Sonic Meditations goes all experimental rock on us with the psyched out “Albero Specchio” tape. Mua Bones does 25 minutes of psych, himself, in KJHK’s studio.
Nick Spacek takes a look at Hollowtown by Pale Hearts, calling it “languorous and a little dreamy, reminding me a lot of the Isobel Campbell / Mark Lanegan stuff.” I Heart Local Music profiles the Regrets. KC Rock History looks back on “The heavy sounds of Stone Wall.” The Larryville Chronicles recap this past weekend’s goings-on, which included Cowboy Indian Bear at the Lawrence Arts Center (“Why can’t more bands perform shows with nature footage in the background?” — good question). Zack Brockman has photos from Talib Kweli’s recent show. The Whigs and Deap Vally will play the Riot Room June 5. mewithoutYou, Rocky Votolato, and Auctioneer will play the Granada June 29. Falling in Reverse’s Granada show has been canceled.
All That Twitters is Not Gold:
Due to a scheduling conflict, Fabolous/Pusha T has been cancelled. Refunds will be issued at point of purchase.
