Live Tonight: Week of October 27th – November 2nd: Hate Hunter Pence Edition

Kansas City’s (and it seems like most of America’s) most hated baseball player comes to Kansas City on Tuesday to (hopefully) lose two games in a row and the Royals can win the World Series! Good thing Kansas City loves their Royals, so when you go to a show on Tuesday or Wednesday, the venues will more than likely have the game on! So there’s no excuse to not be at these shows. And think of it this way – when you’re out rocking out and the Royals win, you’re already surrounded by tons of other crazy fans! It’s a win/win!

DJ Qbert with DeeJay Spinstyles at Riot Room 8 PM $10

A legendary DJ back when DJ’s actually used records and scratching to create music. No epic drops or giant light-up mouseheads here – just good old-fashioned turntablism. DJ QBert is one of the best scratching DJ’s still going strong today and an appearance from him in Kansas City is super rare – not a show to be missed.

Carcass with Obituary, Exhumed, Noisem at The Granada 8 PM $25

The landscape of extreme metal would be shaped very differently without the top three bands on this bill. At the top, we’ve got Carcass – the classic inventors of goregrind and melodic death metal, coming to the area for the first time in who knows how long. Obituary, the Florida legends themselves, have just released their ninth album and they’re still dripping with the riffs and music from the 80s that most bands ripped off from them. Exhumed is along to – doing the sound Carcass popularized almost better than the originators themselves. And rounding out the bill are young guns Noisem – a pretty hefty bill overall!

Transit and Such Gold open, two underrated yet critically acclaimed bands, and Seaway opens – one of the best new pop punk bands around!
